Switchboard
Decoding healthcare workflows
2025
Overview
Switchboard, MD approached me to help bring clarity and energy to their story—translating their suite of physician-built AI tools into something the healthcare world could instantly understand. Their platform tackles one of healthcare’s biggest pain points: high-volume inboxes and disjointed communication systems. By intelligently triaging, routing, and resolving work, Switchboard helps clinical teams stay focused on what matters most—patient care. The challenge was to visualize that invisible workflow in a way that felt intuitive, human, and dynamic.
Over six months, I created a unified series of four explainer videos—each one distilling a complex product into a clear, visually engaging narrative. From creating motion standards and building out storyboards, to designing and animating every sequence, the goal was to balance clarity with craft. The final series not only elevated their brand presence across conferences and digital platforms, but also equipped their marketing team with storytelling tools that make the power of Switchboard’s technology feel both essential and effortless.

As the most complex product in Switchboard’s lineup, RevAware demanded a visual system that could bring order to intricacy. Built to cut through administrative chaos and streamline the revenue cycle, RevAware helps teams accelerate reimbursements, manage denials, and recover revenue faster—all so they can stay focused on improving lives.
To match that clarity, I developed a motion language grounded in geometric simplicity and gradient depth—softening transitions between complex product states and illustrating abstract workflows with ease. The result was a visual system flexible enough to represent everything from paperwork to payment flow, giving RevAware’s technology a clear, human-centered identity.
Contact Center reimagines one of healthcare’s most frustrating realities—message overload. Physicians spend countless hours managing calls and voicemails that pull focus from patient care. Switchboard’s solution processes live calls and voicemails in real time, capturing key details, matching patient records, and generating structured summaries for immediate action—removing friction from an everyday pain point.
The visual language of the video focused on going from chaos to calm. I consolidated simple workflows into clean, unified systems that mirrored the product’s impact. I designed every frame to quiet the noise: minimal shapes, soft transitions, and spacious pacing came together to create a narrative of clarity, showing how Contact Center brings peace and focus back to the physician’s workflow.
ThreatAware tackles one of healthcare’s most urgent challenges—detecting and escalating infectious disease risks before they spread. Built with advanced AI and developed alongside leading physicians, the platform analyzes patient communications across portals, calls, and texts to identify potential health threats early. It’s not just about responding to outbreaks—it’s about staying ahead of them and enabling faster, more coordinated care.
Visually, the challenge was to evoke urgency without fear. The narrative centered on the life of a germ rather than the devastation of disease—shifting the focus from casualties to understanding. I used organic, blurred forms and soft transitions to create a motion language that feels alive yet contained, familiar yet unsettling. This approach allowed the video to maintain a sense of vigilance and importance while bringing calm, human-centered storytelling to a typically anxiety-inducing subject.
MDAware transforms one of healthcare’s most time-consuming tasks—physician inbox management—into a streamlined, intelligent system. By automatically classifying and routing incoming messages to the right destination, it eliminates the manual “ping-pong” of forwarding, reduces touches per conversation, and helps patients get the answers they need faster. Fewer handoffs. Faster answers. Smarter care.
As the first video in the series, MDAware established the visual foundation for the entire project. Using an isometric perspective, I mapped the intricate journey of a message—from the patient’s computer to the physician’s inbox and beyond—into a clear, gamified environment. The motion narrative turned complexity into play, showing how each “level” of chaos could be simplified through Switchboard’s technology.
