Overview
Get Off My Butt is a nonprofit born from the story of our studio principal, John B. Johnson. At 35, after qualifying for the Boston Marathon, he was diagnosed with stage 2 colorectal cancer. Early detection saved his life—but it also exposed a bigger issue: silence and stigma are costing young people their lives. So John built a brand, launched a movement, and got off his butt.
This project is personal for our team. We’ve watched John overcome the unimaginable and turn his story into action. My role has been to translate this brand into something beyond identity. I’ve led the brand's creative direction, merchandise promotions, website design and social media presence—all focused on raising awareness through cheeky merch that starts a conversation and early-detection education.
